LUNCHES

Harbor Haven does not have a kitchen for cooking. You can bring your child's lunch or pay for lunch options from Monday to Thursday. On Fridays, lunches from local restaurants are free! We have a nice outdoor pavilion for eating, giving a camp-like experience.

Since the camp follows Kosher laws from the Golda Och Academy, meat lunches cannot be eaten inside the school building. In case of bad weather, please send a non-meat lunch. No beef, poultry, pork, or shellfish is allowed, but other fish like tuna are okay. All lunches are stored in a fridge when they arrive. We can't heat up lunches since the kitchen is far from the eating area and time is limited.

If your child brings food with nuts, please label the lunch bag with "Lunch contains nuts." Children with nut allergies won't sit near a child with nut products. If your child forgets lunch, we always have nutritious options available. We offer juices or cold water during lunchtime. We can provide milk if your child drinks it with lunch. Cold water is available throughout the day.

SNACKS

Harbor Haven provides a mid-morning snack and an afternoon snack. Morning snacks may be graham crackers, animal crackers, oatmeal cookies, fruit, pretzels, cereal snack bags, or other similar choices.

Afternoon snacks may consist of cookies, fruit, ice cream, ice pops, pretzels, etc. Two options will be offered at each snack time. If your child is on a restrictive diet or has food allergies, we will have some alternate choices.  However, you may be asked to supply some acceptable snacks.
